Precautions for the use of miner switch

1. Can a switch with POE function be used for the miner?

Note: It cannot be used. The POE switch is equipped with a 48V power supply, which will burn out the control board. Due to the use of the burned control board of the POE switch, it will not be repairable.

POE switch introduction-POE (Power Over Ethernet) means that without any changes to the existing Ethernet Cat.5 cabling infrastructure, it is used for some IP-based terminals (such as IP telephones, wireless LAN access point AP, network camera, etc.) transmitting data signals, it can also provide DC power for such devices. POE switch introduction is a switch that supports power over Ethernet.

2. How many ports of the switch can be used by  the miner?

Switches such as 4-port, 8-port, 12-port, 16-port, 24-port, and 48-port can be used.

3. Which switch is recommended for the miner connection?

At present, most of the security features of managed switches support port isolation, which can effectively isolate viruses from spreading between miners.

Unmanaged switches are easy to maintain. The disadvantage is that data packets are spread throughout the switch, which may cause congestion.

The specific switch used needs to be considered based on the actual number of mining machines. 

4. Is there a requirement for the speed of the switch's network port?

Hundreds of megabytes and gigabytes are fine.
