Bitmain offers BTC fluctuation protection plan for Antminer T21

Antminer T21 Specifications

On October 25, ASIC miner manufacturer Bitmain announced the launch of a new air-cooled BTC miner Antminer T21, with shipping expected in the first quarter of 2024.

The data indicates that Antminer T21 can provide 190 TH/s performance under NEM, with a power consumption of 3610W and power efficiency of 19 J/T; under HEM, the hash rate is 233 TH/s and the power efficiency is 22 J/T.

BTC Fluctuation Protection Plan

In addition, Bitmain has also launched an optional plan-Bitcoin Fluctuation Protection. If the Bitcoin price falls below the strike price on any reference day during the protected period (1 month, 3 months, 6 months), the customer will receive cash compensation. The Bitcoin Fluctuation Protection Plan offers different tiers based on the length of the protection period, with Bitmain claiming that “compensation is paid immediately upon a triggering event”.

Antminer S21 and T21

The Antminer T21 is the latest product launched by Bitmain following the launch of the S21 series of devices last month. The S21 Hyd has a hash rate of up to 335 TH/s and an efficiency rating of 16 J/T, while the air-cooled S21 miner has a hash rate of up to 200 TH/s and an efficiency of 17.5 J/T. Bitmain stated that the clients who purchased S21 Hyd & S21, shall enjoy 20% payment of each bacth to be paid on May 30, 2024.

The Antminer T21 is comparable to the Antminer S21 in terms of size and weight, and while the T21 hash rate is slightly inferior to the S21 series, the T21 surpasses the Antminer S19 series in terms of efficiency.

On October 24, the day before the release of Antminer T21, another ASIC miner manufacturer Microbt released the latest mining equipment Whatsminer M60 series at Blockchain Life 2023: M60 air-cooling miner; M63 and M63S hydro-cooling miner, M66 and M66S immersion-cooling miner.

This year, three major Bitcoin miner manufacturers have released multiple new devices. Bitmain has released three models: Antminer S21, Antminer S21 Hyd and Antminer T21. Canaan has released 3 models: Avalonminer A1466, Avalonminer A1466 air-cooled miner and A1466I liquid-cooled miner. Some other miner manufacturers are also launching some new mining equipment, such as IceRiver, DesiweMiner, Wind Miner, etc.
