The A3204 ASIC chip is suitable for Avalon 1246, 1066, 1066pro, 1166 and 1126pro hash boards, helping miners achieve good mining efficiency.
Taking the Avalon 1246 miner as an example, when the A3204 chip fails, the miner's background log may indicate that the BIN code is incorrect, or the number of nonces on a single chip is 0x0, etc., or even the entire hashboard has no hash rate and stops functioning.
BIN code error
the number of nonces is 0x0
At this time, we should replace the new A3204 ASIC chip immediately, which can quickly restore the hash board to normal operation and reduce downtime losses. The specific replacement steps are as follows:
1. Disassemble the miner, take out the abnormal hash board and place it on the anti-static insulating mat. Unscrew the screws of the heat sink on the hash board and remove it.
2. Use the Avalon test fixture to quickly locate the faulty chip, then use circuit board cleaner to clean around the chip.
3. Apply an appropriate amount of flux around the pins of the damaged A3204 ASIC chip, and set the constant temperature heating platform to about 300°C to preheat. After reaching the set temp, place the faulty chip area of the hash board on the platform to heat it. When we see the tin on the chip pins starting to melt, use tweezers to gently grasp the chip and lift it up. Place the hash board on a repair bench and use a cooling fan to cool it, then circuit board cleaner to clean away the solder residue.
4. Tin the new A3204 chip pins with a tin tool. For instructions, see "How to use tin tools?"
5. Add a small amount of flux on the pad (if there is insufficient tin on the pad, add a small amount of solder paste); Use a heating platform to melt the tin in the chip pad, align the A3204 chip pins with the pad, and continue heating until the solder paste covers the chip pins. Use tweezers to gently press the chip surface for a few seconds to fully solder the pins and pads. Use a cooling fan to cool the hash board, then use circuit board cleaner to clean the solder slag and flux.
6. Use a multimeter to check the ground value of the chip pin to make sure the soldering is good; we need use test fixtures to detect board status. If the test passes, the chip replacement is successful. Then apply thermal grease evenly on the chip surface, and install heat sink on the hash board.
7. Put the hash board back into the miner box, assemble other components, and power on the whole miner to run the test.
Any ASIC chip will have aging problems after running for a long time, affecting the hash rate of miners. Replacing the faulty chip with a new A3204 ASIC chip can solve the problem of Avalon miner 0 hashrate or low hashrate. Ensure the stable operation of miners and get profit.
