The TMP75 chip is the optimal replacement chip for the temperature sensor chip on the IceRiver KS3M miner hash board, used to monitor the operating temperature in real-time. It has a wide powering range of 2.7V to 5.5V and provides stable temperature monitoring capabilities within a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Additionally, it supports SMBus™ dual-wrie I2C interfaces, adopting a compact 8-pin MSOP and SOIC package, enabling easy integration into the miner interior, which can effectively save space. In addition, it's also suitable for Antminer series, Whatsminer series and other miners.
If the TMP75 temp sensor chip is damaged, it may lead to some malfunctions such as abnormal fan speed, overheating shutdown of the miner, or even burnout of the hash board. Therefore, once discovering a fauty temperature sensor chip of IceRiver KS3M miner, a new alternate TMP75 chip should be replaced as soon as possible to ensure the normal operation and mining efficiency of the miner.
Then, what's the quickly replace method for temperature sensor chip?
1. Disassemble the miner, remove the conductive copper sheets and the cooler fans of miner air outlet, unplug the cables, take out the hash board.
2. Use KS hash board tester for Iceriver miner to quickly locate the faulty temperature sensor chips.
3. After applying a no-clean flux around the pins of the faulty chip, and heat it by using a hot air gun (about 400°C, the second gear wind speed with 5cm pitch above the chip). When the solder on the chip pins starts to melt, gently clamp it with a tweezer, then lift slowly to remove it.
4. After cooling the hash board with a fan, use lead-free board washing water to clean the solder residue on it.
5. Confirm the new TMP75 chip pins is intact, then use a tweezer to align it with the solder pads, add an appropriate amount of flux, continue to heat it with the hot air gun until the solder covers its pins; and gently press it with the tweezer for a few seconds.
6. Repeat step 4.
7. Check that the chip pins soldering is without any virtual soldering joints or solder bridges, use a hash board tester to test the single board to ensure successful replacement.
8. Place the hash board back into the miner chassis, then re-start the machine to check operation state.
A reliable temperature sensor chip can not only monitor the temperature status of the miner in real-time but also issue timely warnings when temperatures are abnormal, preventing the miner from being damaged due to overheating. Promptly replacing faulty temperature sensor chips is not only a protection for the miner but also a responsibility towards the mining business.
