What is the Avalon 3205 chip tin tool and how to use it?

2024/5/29

The Avalon A3205 chip tin tool is designed to auxiliary in the replacement and tinning of ASIC chips on Avalon A1066, A1046, and A1047 hash boards, serving as a crucial tool for repair ASIC miner hash boards. Made from a composite material that is resistant to electricity and high temperatures, this tin tool effectively prevents the generation of electric charges and protects the chips during the chip replacement process. To ensure even and rapid tinning of the Avalon A3205 chip, a specialized tin planting tool specifically designed for it is used.

Since new chips often do not have solder on their pins, they require pre-tinning before soldering onto the hash board. If the chip pins are not pre-tinned, the chip may not make sufficient contact with the soldering pads, resulting in poor soldering. Manual tinning may result in uneven application, and excess solder paste could cause solder bridges or short circuits.

When using the Avalon 3205 chip tin tool, the following steps should be followed:

1. The tinning fixture consists of a base and a template. Place the necessary components and tools on the workbench, including the new 3205 chip, a hot air gun, tweezers, a scraper, then the tinning tool base and template separately.

2. Use tweezers to remove the new ASIC chip that needs tinning and place it face down on the base, ensuring it is positioned correctly. Align the holes on the template with the chip's pins and then place the template on the base.

3. Add the solder paste to the template and use the scraper to evenly spread it on the holes of the template. The pressure from the scraper forces the solder paste through the template's holes and onto the chip's pins.

4. Remove the template from the base and then use tweezers to take out the chip from the base.

5. Hold the edges of the chip with tweezers and use the hot air gun to heat the chip pins, melting the solder paste and completing the tinning.

6. After tin plating is completed, carefully take out the ASIC chip that have been processed to avoid burns or damage to it.

7. Perform a quality check on the tinning layer to ensure it is uniform and free from defects or imperfections.

8. After use, clean the work area and remove any residual solder residue to maintain the equipment's tidiness.

The Avalon tin tool's efficiency, precision, and ease of operation make it an essential piece of equipment in the electronics manufacturing and repair industry, saving time and improving repair and replacement efficiency. Replacing new ASIC chips can help restore the hash board's operation, extend the miner's lifespan, then improve mining profitability.

Notice:

ASIC chips come in various sizes and pin configurations, so it's crucial to select the correct model of tin planting tools and template for the specific ASIC chip.

This method can also be used for tinning other ASIC chips and control board CPU chips.

Equipment should be used in a dry, dust-free environment and maintained regularly to avoid external factors affecting the tinning effect.

Strictly follow operating procedures and wear necessary protective equipment to prevent accidents such as burns or electric shocks.
