The BM1368 series ASIC chips are specifically designed for Antminer S21, T21, S21Hydro, and other miners to replace faulty chips, helping them quickly restore normal operation. It should be noticed that BM1368PA, BM1368PB, BM1368AA three models are not interchangeable, so the version number must be matched with the original chip on the miner's hash board while replacing.
ASIC chips may face shortened lifespan and decreased efficiency under prolonged high-temperature operating conditions, which not only affects the miner's mining performance but also may lead to more serious hardware failures. Therefore, once machine performance decreases or a fault is detected, the repair master should immediately check the status of the ASIC chips and replace faulty chips with new spare parts.
Making Antminer S21 as an example, the specific steps for replacing the BM1368 chip are as follows:
1. Remove the control board protective shell, disconnect the conductive copper sheet and the air outlet cooling fan, unplug the data cable, then take out the faulty hash board.
2. Use the Antminer test fixture to precisely locate the faulty chip, remove the heat sinks on both sides of the hash board, then clean the thermal paste and dust from the faulty chip.
3. Apply lead-free flux around the faulty chip's pins, heat the faulty section of the hash board on a heating platform (around 300℃) until the solder melts, carefully remove the chip using tweezers, then cool and clean the hash board with circuit board cleaning fluid.
4. Inspect the new chip's version number and appearance, then tin the chip with a tin tool.
5. Align the tinned chip with the hash board's soldering pads and add some flux, reheat the board until the chip pins are perfectly wrapped with solder, gently press the chip with tweezers for a few seconds, then move the hash board to an insulating pad to cool and clean.
6. Use a multimeter to check the ground value of the chip signal to ensure the soldering is satisfactory, then use the testing fixture to detect if the single board status has returned to normal.
7. Evenly apply thermal paste to the surface of the faulty hash board chip and install the previously removed heat sinks.
8. Place the hash board back into the miner's case, connect the cables after securing the conductive copper sheet and cooling fan, then install the miner's shell.
9. Power on the entire machine to check if the miner's performance has returned.
ASIC chips BM1368 series play a crucial role in the miner's efficient hash rate operation to ensure continuous profitability. Please maintain a certain amount of inventory to replace worn or faulty chips promptly for reducing downtime.
