Instructions for replacing Antminer E9 PRO BM2280AA ASIC chip

High-quality BM2280AA ASIC chips are used to replace the chips on the Antminer E9 PRO miner's hash board.

When the BM2280AA chip malfunctions, the hash rate drops to 0 or a low value, and it can even lead to miner shutdown, frequent restarts, crashes, and other issues. This not only reduces mining efficiency but may also damage other components, shortening the miner's lifespan. Once the E9 PRO ASIC chip is found to be damaged, it is recommended to replace it immediately to avoid further losses.

Here are the steps for replacing the BM2280AA ASIC chip:

1. Disassemble the protective shell above the miner, remove the conductive copper sheets and the outlet cooling fans, unplug the cables, and carefully take out the faulty hash board, removing the heatsink from the hash board, placing it on the anti-static insulation pad.

2. Use the E9PRO tester to locate the faulty ASIC chip.

3. Apply flux to the pins of the damaged chip, and then heat the solder with a BGA desoldering station until the solder melts, carefully remove the chip with tweezers.

4. Quickly cool the hash board using a cooling fan, then clean solder residues and dust from its surface.

5. Evenly tin the new BM2280AA ASIC chip using a chip tinning tool.

6. Align the tinned chip pins with the hash board pads, apply a small amount of flux, and heat it until the solder completely covers. Gently press the chip with tweezers for a few seconds.

7. Cool and clean the hash board.

8. Test the grounding value of the chip signal using a multimeter to ensure good soldering without false solder joints or bridging.

9. Apply thermal grease and install the heatsink.

10. Place the hash board back into the miner box, install the conductive copper strips, cooling fans, connect the cables, and reinstall the protective shell.

11. Power on the miner and test if the overall performance has been restored to normal.
