Installation guide for Antminer KA3 BM2110AA ASIC chip

The BM2110AA chip is a high-quality ASIC chip replacement product specifically designed for the Antminer K3 KA3 miner. It utilizes the Blake2S algorithm to provide stable hash rate support, enabling efficient mining.

As the core hashing chip of the K3 KA3 miner, the BM2110AA ASIC chip once fails, will affect the overall mining performance of the machine, thereby affecting mining revenue. Promptly replacing the new standby chip can resolve the miner's issues of low hash rate or 0 hash rate, helping it to resume mining in the shortest time possible, thus reducing potential losses due to the failure.

Here is the installation tutorial for Antminer KA3 miner BM2110AA ASIC chip:

I. Removing the faulty chip

1. Turn off the miner, disconnect the power cord connection for safe operation.

2. Unplug the fan connector, remove the protective cover plate on top, and disconnect all cables connected to the hash board.

3. Remove the fixing screws of the conductive copper sheets, next remove the outlet fan, then take out the problematic hash board.

4. Remove the heat sinks on both sides of the hash board, then clear it with a circuit board cleaning solution to remove the thermal grease and dust (the thermal conductivity of the grease will decline after prolonged use, and re-apply it can ensure optimal heat dissipation performance).

5. Use the Antminer test fixture to locate the faulty chip.

6. Apply soldering flux to the faulty chip pins, place the hash board on a heating platform after the preset temperature (about 300℃) is reached to heat it. Once the solder melts, use tweezers to slowly lift the chip until it is removed.

7. Use a cooling fan to quickly cool the hash board, and then use board-cleaning water to remove the residue solder.

II. Installing the new chip

1. Inspect the new BM2110AA chip, then tin it, after that align its pins with the hash board's soldering pads, and add an appropriate amount of flux.

2. Heat the hash board again until the solder completely covers the chip pins, press with tweezers for a few seconds to ensure a secure connection. When the solder joints appear full and shiny, remove the board from the heating platform. Do not release the tweezers until the solder solidifies.

3. Cool and clean the hash board.

III. Assembly and testing

1. Check the soldering condition of the new chip, ensuring the solder joints are round and full, without virtual solder joints or short circuits. Then use a test fixture to check the status of the single board, confirming the successful chip replacement.

2. Reapply thermal grease, then install the heat sinks.

3. Place the hash board back into the miner's chassis, tighten the fixing screws of the conductive copper sheets, connect the corresponding cables, install the previously removed outlet fan and protective plate, finally plug in the fan connector.

4. Power on the miner, check its operating status and confirm if the hash rate has returned to normal levels through its backend logs.

By promptly replacing the BM2110AA ASIC chip, the KA3 miner can quickly restore its mining performance, continuing to generate more revenue. Therefore, for miners, it is an important measure to ensure the continuous stable operation of the machine by preparing some high-quality standby chips and replacing them promptly when necessary.
