With the continuous development of the cryptocurrency mining industry, the heat dissipation problem of machines has increasingly become the focus of miners' attention. Upgrading to a water cooling system has become the preferred solution for many miners. It drives the liquid cycle with the water pump to quickly dissipate the heat generated by the hash boards' operation, thereby improving the mining efficiency and stability of the entire miner.
Below is a detailed introduction to the accessories required for ASIC miner water cooling retrofits:
1. Water cooling plates
The water cooler-blocks are the core component of miner water cooling retrofitting, used to directly replace the original heat sinks of the hash boards. Made of highly efficient thermal conductive materials with a widened water channel design, it can more effectively carry away the heat generated by the miner's ASIC chips, thereby enhancing its performance and lifespan. Water cooling boards come in the front (ASIC chip side) and the back (without ASIC chip side) specifications, and can be replaced on one or both sides according to actual cooling needs of hash boards.
2. Water separator
The water distributor serves as the "transportation hub" in the miner's water cooling system, connecting the water pipes to distribute coolant evenly to each water-cooled board. It simplifies the water pipe layout, making the retrofit process more organized. It is available in three specifications: 1 to 3, 1 to 4, and 1 to 6.
3. Water cooling tube
When modifying the water cooling system of ASIC miner, we need to use corrugated tubes and PVC transparent tubes or silicone transparent tubes.
Corrugated tube: The outer diameter is 8mm and 10mm (It can be determined by the quick connector), connecting the water cooling plate and the water distributor;
PVC transparent tube: The outer diameter is 10mm, 12mm and 16mm, used to connect the water distributor and the radiator;
Silicone transparent tube: The outer diameter is 10mm, which can be used to connect the water cooling plate, the water distributor and the radiator at the same time.
They can ensure the smooth flow of coolant, thereby taking away the heat generated by the miner's operation. Made of high-quality materials, it is sturdy and durable, not easy to break, and resistant to high temperatures, which can effectively help the miner to dissipate heat better.
4. ASIC miner water cooling pipe connectors
ASIC miner water cooling pipe connectors are used to connect ASIC miner water cooling pipes and the external radiator, ensuring smooth coolant flow while preventing liquid spillage. They come in two types: threaded pipe head connectors and quick connectors.
The threaded pipe head connector is used to connect the water pipe and fixed with a hose clamp, while the red end is directly connected to the tube of the water-cooled radiator.
Quick connectors simplify the installation process and improve system air-tightness with the feature of quick installation and disassembly.
5. Cover plate
The cover plate is installed in the position of the original case fan baffle. Two plates are required for upgrading the miner water cooling. One with screw holes is used to fix the water separators to the miner case, and the other prevents foreign objects from entering the miner, which will affect the normal operation of the hash boards. They not only protect the miners from dust accumulation but also significantly reduce the chaos of water pipe layouts during water-cooled retrofits.
6. Thermal conductive silicone grease
The thermal grease is used to fill the tiny gaps between the water-cooled plates and the ASIC chips, serving as an auxiliary for heat conduction.
7. Screws
Used to fix baffles, water blocks, and other components, ensuring the stability of the entire water cooling system.
8. Water-cooler radiator
The water radiator is an essential part of the cooling system, featuring an integrated design that supports high-power heat dissipation with noiseless operation. Equipped with a built-in 220V power supply, it can be turned on with a single button, eliminating the need for external power sources and repeated plugging and unplugging. Available in 4.5KW, 8KW, and 12KW specifications. It consists of a radiator base, a water pump bracket, and a water pump. Installation steps:
(1) First, install the radiator base, then assemble the water pump bracket and secure it to the radiator with screws.
(2) Place the water pump in the bracket and secure the corresponding buckles.
(3) Cut a tube with a suitable length to connect the water pump to the upper outlet of the radiator.
(4) Fix two pipes to the radiator's inlet and the water pump's outlet. After completing the miner's water cooling retrofit, connect the other ends of the pipes to the lower and upper water separators, respectively, ensuring tight connections with hose clamps or quick connectors.
9. Fan speed simulator
The fan emulator serves as an important auxiliary tool in the water-cooling modification of miners. It replaces the original cooling fans by simulating their speed signals, enabling the rig to operate normally without actual fans, which improves the success rate of upgradation.
10. Liquid-cooled coolant
Coolant, the "lifeblood" of the water cooling system in miners, is responsible for carrying away the heat generated by the rigs. It boasts high fluidity, superior thermal conductivity, non-flammability, and effective antifreeze capabilities, allowing it to operate in environments ranging from -20°C to 100°C.
