The Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms purchased 31,500 miners from MicroBT for $97.4 million. It is reported that this purchase will increase the self-mining hash rate of the company's factory in Rockdale, Texas, from 12.4 EH/s to 15.1 EH/s by the end of July. Last December, Riot revealed that it had spent $290.5 million to buy 66,000 miners and indicated it might choose to purchase an additional 265,000 MicroBT miners under the same terms. In the long run, this will help increase its hash rate to over 100 EH/s.
