Game company Nexon America now accepts cryptocurrency payments

According to reports, Nexon America announced that it would allow buyers to use cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Bitcoin in games such as MapleStory, Vindictus, and Mabinogi. These payment options are available immediately, and Nexon will determine an upper limit on player spending. Nexon America is the latest company to join in accepting cryptocurrency payments. In a press release, the company's general manager Kenny Chang said that the move to accept cryptocurrency payments was at least partly motivated by player feedback. When free-to-play games were beginning to become popular, Nexon America was one of the first publishers to implement the cash store model, and MapleStory, which came out in North America in 2005, was one of the company's masterpieces.
