El Salvador's President: Harnesses Geothermal Energy from an Inactive Volcano in the Country to Power Its Bitcoin City Project

2022/1/12

El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele has reportedly claimed that officials will power their Bitcoin City project using geothermal energy from an inactive volcano. Bukele said there is a 90 percent chance that Conchagua Volcano could be used to supply 42 megawatts of energy enough to power the entire Bitcoin City. State-owned power company LaGeo is continuing to ramp up geothermal power generation from the country's different volcanoes, with one site being thought to produce 95 megawatts.
