Canada’s KPMG has reportedly added bitcoin and Ethereum to its corporate balance sheet, marking its first direct investment in a crypto asset. Benjie Thomas, the managing partner of KPMG Canada Advisory Services Canada, said that crypto assets are a mature asset class. Investors such as hedge funds and family offices of large insurance companies and pension funds are increasingly exposed to crypto-assets banks. In addition, traditional financial services such as financial advisors and brokerage firms are exploring offering products and services involving crypto assets. This investment reflects our belief that the adoption of institutional crypto assets and blockchain technology will continue to grow and become a regular part of the portfolio.
