Australian bitcoin miner Mawson Infrastructure (MIGI) reportedly expanded to 230 megawatts (MW) at its Sandersville, Georgia, mining facility, which is expected to open in the third quarter of this year, Australian bitcoin miner Mawson Infrastructure (MIGI) said in a statement Thursday. Fully operational after adding 150 MW of online capacity. Mawson previously said the facility would have 100MW of power capacity by the beginning of the first quarter. Mawson cracked 1 EH/s in January and said it expects to hit around 1.35 EH/s by the end of February, which would bring the miner’s share of computing power closer to 1% of the Bitcoin network’s total. Mawson also intends to use carbon credits and renewable energy credits at the facility to ensure the miner is on track to achieve 100% net carbon neutrality by 2030.
