Pepper Invest, a digital platform owned by the National Bank of Israel (LeumiBank), said that Leumi Bank would become the first bank in Israel to enable cryptocurrency transactions after partnering with American blockchain firm Paxos reports. The new service will allow Pepper Invest customers to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrencies, currently limited to bitcoin and Ethereum, for transactions worth at least 50 shekels ($15.49). However, PepperInvest did not disclose a specific launch date for the service, saying it is awaiting regulatory approval and will be taxed following Israel Tax Authority guidelines.
