Coinbase CEO: Bitcoin Could Replace USD as New Global Reserve Currency

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong reportedly believes that Bitcoin (BTC) could one day replace the U.S. dollar as the new global reserve currency. “I think most of the world will think this is a crazy thing, or a contrarian view or whatever, but I think bitcoin has the potential to become the new global reserve currency,” Armstrong said in an interview. ” He expects Bitcoin to gain the status of the global gold standard, potentially becoming the new global reserve currency. He added that the potential loss of the dollar’s global dominance is not unique, as fiat currencies tend to have a limited lifespan once they are no longer backed by commodities such as gold.
