Bitcoin miner manufacturer MicroBT released three new miners today at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami. WhatsMiner M53S++ is one of them, it can provide 320 terahash per second (TH/s) computing power, and the efficiency per terahash (J/T) is 22 joules. Company founder and CEO Zuoxing Yang said it is more powerful than rival Bitmain's equivalent Antminer S19 XP Hydro, which can provide up to 257 TH/s of computing power, but not as efficient as Bitmain's model, which is Operable at 20.8 J/T. The other two models are the M50S++, designed for air cooling and capable of computing at 150 TH/s, and the M56S++, designed for immersion cooling and delivering up to 230 TH/s. Both machines have an efficiency of 22J/TH. Facing the energy crisis and global warming, Yang believes that the power supply for Bitcoin mining needs to be upgraded and better solutions, such as green energy, need to be found.
