According to new research, three models of Bitmain miners account for 76% of the Bitcoin network’s hash rate. The Antminer S19j Pro accounts for 34.3% of the network’s hash rate, with the S19 accounting for 28.1%. They have been the most used machines on the network since March 2021. The Antminer S19 XP accounted for another 13.7% of the network’s hashrate, the report said.
The report also found that the Bitcoin network consumes 13.4 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, 13 percent lower than a commonly used index published by Cambridge University’s Center for Alternative Finance.
