The Swiss city of Lugano has announced the launch of Lugano (LUGA), a Bitcoin-linked stablecoin that can be used for payments at more than 350 merchants across the city. About 20% of Lugano people have active Lugano wallets. From December 1, the Lugano city government will also begin accepting Bitcoin for tax payments. In addition, the City of Lugano also announced a $50 million grant to startups in the cryptocurrency and blockchain fields, including Bitcoin Core development, Lightning Network development, and local public projects.
