PuTTY is a free and open-source terminal emulator that enables interactive command-line sessions with Antminer via the SSH protocol, allowing remote access and control of miners, suitable for Linux/Unix systems.
1. Select the appropriate PuTTY software for installation on our computer. You can scroll to the end of this guide to obtain the program. We will use PuTTY version 0.77 (64-bit) as an example. Click on the "putty-64bit-0.77-installer" icon to begin installation.
2. Follow the installation wizard by clicking "Next." To install in the default folder, click "Next" again. If we need to change the installation location, click "Change" to select a different folder.
3. There are 4 installation functions in total. Select the option we want to install and click "Install". Wait for the installation progress to complete.
4. Click the "Finish" button to exit the installation wizard.
5. After installation, launch the PuTTY program. We will see the following window. Enter the IP address of our Antminer miner in the "Host Name (or IP address)" field. The "Port" field should remain set to 22 by default. Select SSH and click the "Open" button to connect to the miner.
6. Follow the prompts to enter the password. Once logged in, we will enter the miner's command-line interface where we can input various commands to manage the miner, such as checking mining status, modifying configurations, and adjusting overclocking settings. After completing our management tasks, we can exit the command-line interface by entering the "exit" command or pressing Ctrl+D, then close the software window.
